Tozzetti – Il Lorese
They are the "Marche cousin" of the Tuscan cantuccio: the same idea of a dry biscuit rich in almonds, designed to be dipped.
Azienda Agricola Il Lorese of Loro Piceno prepares them with soft wheat flour, fresh eggs, butter and sweet almonds, flavoured with natural vanilla. The recipe is richer and more buttery than the ring biscuits of the same line, with the almonds staying whole and well distributed in every tozzetto.
The result is a compact, not-too-sweet biscuit, with the crunch of almonds in every bite: the natural companion to Vino Cotto or a sweet meditation wine, in the Marche tradition of dipping biscuits.
Enjoy at the end of a meal, perhaps dipped right into Il Lorese Vino Cotto.
