"Le Querce" Albana Dolce – Romagna DOCG
Albana di Romagna was, in 1987, the first white wine in Italy to obtain DOCG status.
A recognition that confirmed the value of a grape cultivated on the hills of the Romagna hinterland for centuries. Celli has produced it in Bertinoro since 1963; today the winery farms 35 organic hectares, and "Le Querce" is made from the Gentile clone of Albana harvested in the Maestrina-Fratta vineyards.
Intense golden colour, a nose of apricot and ripe peach, honey and white flowers. On the palate, the sweetness (about 80 g/l of residual sugar) is balanced by the lively acidity typical of the grape, which extends the finish without weighing it down.
A dessert wine, good with fruit tarts and dry pastries, but it also holds up well alongside blue cheeses.
Origin: Bertinoro, Romagna (Emilia-Romagna, Italy)
