Guerriero del Mare 2023 – Marche IGT

Pure Bianchello: it is only produced when the vintage truly deserves it, selecting grapes from the estate's oldest vineyards.

The name "del Mare" (of the sea) recalls the fishing vocation of the Marche coast, but the substance lies entirely in the grape variety: Bianchello, a native grape grown for centuries along the Metauro valley, vinified in purity by Azienda Agraria Guerrieri of Terre Roveresche. Unlike Guerriero Bianco, it comes from a stricter selection.

Part of the fermentation and about a year of ageing take place in wood. Intense straw-yellow colour, a nose of lily-of-the-valley and tea leaf alongside peach and lychee; on the palate, fresh, round and persistent.

It holds up well even to more elaborate fish dishes, not just raw ones; a good match with white meats, a cheese that has already gained some age, and naturally with truffle.
